Before You Begin Filling Your Dumpster:

Please review the following information carefully so as not to overfill the dumpster you are renting from us.

Overfilling a dumpster may prevent us from servicing it. If that happens, we will request that you remove material from the dumpster until it is serviceable.

An alternative solution would be to order another dumpster that we can place next to the overfilled one and then you can throw excess material from one into the other.

Important Notice

If we were unable to service your dumpster due to overfilling, it is your responsibility to contact our dispatcher again to schedule the Pick-Up, Dump-And-Return, or Swap-Out, once the overfilling has been remedied and the dumpster is serviceable again.

How Full Can I Fill My Roll-Off Dumpster?

You can fill the dumpster all the way to the top (except concrete dumpsters), but not past the top. Also, once you reach the top it must be level full across the entire surface area of the dumpster. No debris can stick up in the air past the top of the sidewalls of the can. No chair leg, no branch, no 2x4 or anything else. If you cannot place a board across the top of the container so that it rests fully on both sidewalls, then the dumpster is overfilled.

Overfilled dumpsters interfere with our tarping system. Debris sticking up above the sidewalls of the dumpster can rip our tarp and/or prevent us from adequately tarping the load.

By law we are required to fully cover a dumpster when hauling it on public roads. Not tarping a dumpster is considered an “Unsecured Load” and is the quickest way to get Highway Patrol’s attention. Not only will we be fined for the unsecured load, but they will call DOT who will give our truck and driver the third degree.

As bad as that scenario may be, the main reason why we will not haul an overfilled dumpster that cannot be tarped, is because it is unsafe. Should anything fly out of the dumpster while in transit it could cause serious injury or damage to people and property, potentially fatal.

Examples of properly and improperly filled rental dumpsters

Why Can't I Stack More Stuff On Top?

If I fill the dumpster level full, there is still plenty of room left to fit more stuff on top. Why can’t I stack more stuff on top?

By law we must tarp any load transported on public roads. If a load is not tarped properly, we not only risk being fined, but we also expose ourselves to serious liability should anything fly out of the dumpster while in transit and hit people or property.

For our tarping system to function properly the tarp must be able to fully rest on top of the sides of the dumpster. This cannot happen if material is stacked higher than the sidewalls of the dumpster.

The customer is responsible for removing excess material until we can tarp the load properly.

Call our office at (620) 276-8660 once the dumpster is serviceable again.
